Tenement Museum, NYC Lower East Side 1448

Our tour of the Lower East Side of Manhattan will start with a visit to the Doughnut Plant and then take a tour of the Tenement Museum. The Doughnut Plant has the best doughnuts in the city, made with fresh organic ingredients. Sample their coconut creame, creme brulee, or Valhrona Chocolate and you will experience doughnut Nirvana. We will then tour the Lower East Side Tenement Museum with a docent led tour entitled Sweatshop Workers and Hard Times. We will hear the stories of our mothers and fathers and families who lived in this area at the turn of the 20th century. You will have time on your own to further explore the Lower East Side; visit Katz's for their famous pastrami, Kossare Bialy's, Russ and Daughters and the Eldridge Street Synagogue. You can also shop in NYC's first garment district and view the galleries and newer shops of this exciting neighborhood. Trip includes motor coach transportation, escort, tour of the Tenement Museum and a stop at the Doughnut Plant. Meal/doughnuts are on your own. Escort will provide culinary and shopping recommendations in the Lower East Side.
