A Dong's Asian Supermarket and a Vietnamese Lunch 839

It's over 30,000 square feet of Chinatown in West Hartford complete with hanging ducks, live fish, exotic produce and all the ingredients you need to cook Chines, Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese. Television chef, Prudence Sloane will guide you through Hartford's most extraordinary supermarket and give you expert advice on how to cook and use many of the products offered. All secrets will be revealed. Afterwards we will feast on Vietnamese specialties (no cooking class) at Pho Boston next door. Prudence Sloan is a well known culinary expert. Her television and radio credits include weekly chef on Better Connecticut WFSB, host of Simply Food on WDRC and WTIC, co-creator and personality on the "Food Schmooze," WNPR, and her television show, "Let's Eat with Prudence Sloane" which aired on cable television throughout New England. The tour starts at the A Dong Asian Supermarket 160 Shield Street. You are responsible for your own transportation.

Cost for this offering is non-refundable but transferable to another person. Everyone must pay the full tuition. No tuition waivers apply. If you would like to shop for perishable items, please bring a cooler. The supermarket may be cold, so bring a sweater if needed. Tax and gratuity for lunch included.
