Great Buildings of Hartford 1208

A century ago, Hartford was one of the most prosperous cities in the country and produced many examples of beautiful buildings in a variety of architectural styles. While many have been lost to development and urban renewal, much survives today, sometimes adapted to new uses. This course looks at the built environment of Hartford from its early days to the present, including lost buildings and surviving treasures. The recommended, but not required books are A Guide to Historic Hartford and Vanished Downtown Hartford both by Daniel Sterner.
