Through the Glass House, New Canaan 1451
We will start the day with a guided tour of Philip Johnson's Glass House. The Glass House is best understood as a pavilion or viewing the surrounding landscape. Invisible from the road, the house overlooks a pond with views to the woods beyond. The floor plan reveals a fairly traditional living space. Although there are no walls, Philip Johnson referred to the areas within the rectangular, loft-like space as "rooms." There is a kitchen, dining room, living room, bedrooms, hearth area, bathroom and entrance area. After the tour we head to San Marino Restaurant for lunch. Trip includes motor coach transportation, escort, admission to the house and lunch.
Cost for trips is non-refundable.
