The Revolution, Civil War and JFK, Boston 1542

Go beyond the Freedom Trail and uncover Boston's most important 18th century, 19th century and 20th century national history on a walking tour through very exclusive Beacon Hill and historic Central Boston. You will see locations associated with both turning points in US history - the American Revolution and the Civil War - as well as sites revealing the story of Boston's own JFK. Stops include Faneuil Hall; the home of Julia Ward Howe, who wrote the Battle Hymn of the Republic; the church where Frederick Douglas and Harriet Tubman condemned slavery; sites associated with John Wilkes Booth and the Massachusetts 54th Regiment, which was honored in the film Glory; the gravesites of patriots John Hancock, Paul Revere and Samuel Adams; the site of the Boston Massacre, JFK's Boston residences; the Union Oyster House, where JFK and Daniel Webster downed a pint; and the site of Kennedy's immortal "Shining City on the Hill" speech. Trip includes motorcoach transportation, tour and admission, group leader and all gratuities. Lunch is on your own.

Cost for trips is non-refundable but transferable to another person.
