Greenwich Village History and Dessert* 1493

Stroll through the nooks, crannies, and winding side streets of Greenwich Village, aswe explore the cultural, literary and presidential history of the Village - from wealthy Victorianneighborhood to 20th century bohemian center - as well as its personalities, from George Washingtonto Bob Dylan. Historical stops include New York's narrowest house, the homes of Mark Twain, EleanorRoosevelt, and Edith Wharton. The Washington Square Arch, Minetta Lane, Patchin Place, the JeffersonCourthouse Library, Grove Court, the site of the first presidential wedding, the Friends apartment building,and film locations from Breakfast at Tiffany's. Along the way, we will indulge in a sampling of desserts, from Lilac chocolate to Italian saviodi. Come prepared with an appetite for history and sweet things. Trip includes motor coach transportation, trip leader, and local guide.
