General Education Development (GED)

This program prepares students to pass the four-part computer-based exam to earn a State of Connecticut diploma. Students receive necessary instruction in each of four subject areas- science, social studies, math and language arts - plus basic computer skills to take the exam. Instructors will also review the official website, ged.com where students can access related exam information and exam registration procedures. Students can begin the GED registration process online at ged.com and complete the process in person at the West Hartford Continuing Education Office at 50 South Main Street, Room 130.

To register for the GED exam, or enroll in GED classes students must be 17 years old and officially withdrawn from school for 6 months or their 9th grade class must have graduated.

The GED exam is given monthly at locations throughout the state.  Students can register to take the GED exam through West Hartford Continuing Education.

Note: Starting January 2, 2014, there will be a new GED test. The current version of the GED is expiring at the end of 2013 and your scores will expire also if you don't finish and pass the test by then. To finish call or email Paul Bordonaro at 860 561-6900 or paul_bordonaro@whps.org
