English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

This program provides free instruction in speaking, reading, and writing English as well as life skills. Classes are offered at three levels: beginning, intermediate, and advanced. Interested West Hartford residents may enroll at any time during the semester.

*English for Families and Futures

This program combines English language learning at the beginning or intermediate levels with family literacy development. Students receive six hours per week of English instruction, while their pre-school children attend a structured playgroup conducted by the Family Resource Center (FRC) at Charter Oak International Academy. Students also parenting skills during a one-hour program of organized parent-child interaction. This program is free to West Hartford residents and is intended for beginning level students.

*Ready, Set Go to Work! - All Levels

This program is a "dual customer" model, in which the focus of services is on both targeted residents of West Hartford and area employers. The program and classes are designed to provide contextualized English language literacy instruction and/or secondary education diploma completion preparation, based on student needs, combined with workplace literacy and One-Stop career services.
