The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze - Historic Hudson (NY) Valley

We will first visit Sunnyside - the home that defines the magic and mystery of the Hudson River Valley. Washington Irving, the author of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, purchased a small Dutch farmhouse in 1835 and transformed it into the one-of-a-kind house he called his "snuggery." This romantic, picturesque estate with stunning Hudson River views has been charming guests for generations. You'll hear about Irving's storied past as told by interpreters in mid-19th century costumes and discover why one of America's first celebrity homes remains a delight to behold. An early dinner is included at the El Dorado Restaurant located in Elmsford, New York. The menu includes your choice of roast Chicken, Roast Sirlion Beef, or Broiled Scrod. All of the above served with potatoes and vegetable. Or you may
instead choose Chicken Parmigiana with Spaghetti. All dinners are served with soup or Salad; Apple, Cherry, or Blueberry Pie, Coffe, Tea, or Soda. In the evening enjoy the Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze, a mix of art, Halloween fun, and surprising spectacle. The Blaze features over 4,000 awe-inspiring, hand-cared illuminated pumpkins displayed on Van Cortlandt Manor's 18th century riverside landscape. You'll marvel at the breathtaking display of Celtic knots, ghosts, and clowns. Hanging from the trees, floating in the Croton River, and rising in the sky stacked up as totem poles, the pumpkins will fill themed areas such as the ghostly graveyard, the scarecrow avalanche, and the amazing jack o'lantern aquarium. The trip includes transportation, Sunnyside Tour, dinner, and Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze.
