Course OfferingsCherry Blossoms in Washington D C including the Terra Cotta Warriors Exhibit
Visit Washington, D C during Cherry Blossom season and see the Terra Cotta Warriors exhibit the the National Geographic Museum, then visit the Smithsonian Museum and the Kennedy Center, and take a city tour of Washington. Day 1: Depart via motor coach and head for our beautiful capital on the Potomac River. Washington is a breathtaking sight during Cherry Blossom time with the gorgeous blossoms lining the Tidal basin. Enjoy two nights at the first class Radisson Hotel Crystal City, a perfect central location to base ourselves. This hotel offers lovely guestrooms, restaurant, lounge, and fitness center. A welcome dinner marks our arrival. Day 2: Meet our local guide for a city tour of Washington to see the famous memorials highlighting the Vietnam and Korean War, FDR, and World War II. There will then be free time at the Smithsonian to visit their many world-famous museum. appropriately nicknamed America's Attic. then on to see one of the greatest architectural finds of the 20th century, China's Terra Cotta Warriors! The National Geographic Museum will be transformed into ancient China with figures and relics, representing life from 221 to 210 BC, when China's first emperor was in power. Featuring close to 100 objects, including 15 terra cotta figures, the exhibit is the largest collection of significant artifacts from China ever to travel to the United States. Return to the hotel to relax and freshen up before dinner on Georgetown Harbor. Wrap up the events of the day with a Washington-by_Night tour of the beautifully illuminated monuments. Day 3: Guided behind-the-scenes tour of the Kennedy Center. See where the President sits during the Kennedy Center Honors! Then it is time to head toward home with great memories of our special spring weekend in DC! Trip include deluxe motor coach, two nights at the Radisson Hotel, two dinners, and all sightseeing costs. Cost: $530 Single $415 Twin/triple Cost for trip includes non-refundable but transferable (to another person) fee. Everyone must pay the full tuition. No tuition waivers apply. On rare occasions the bus company may cancel a trip due to severe weather conditions. Absolutely no drinking of alcoholic beverages allowed on the bus.
